End of Term One Special Parade

Year 5 students receiving their Platinum Certificates
 Special End of Term Parade
On Monday afternoon 27 March, Blackbutt State School students celebrated a successful first term with a special celebration parade to mark their term achievements.
The school hall was abuzz with proud students, their parents and carers, family members and visitors, all enjoying the hour-long parade.
Class teachers presented Platinum Behaviour Certificates to our best-behaved students.
Principal Mrs Gayle Williamson presented special certificates to students with an attendance record of 100% during the term.
“These students have not missed one day of school this term and every day counts,’’ she said.
Students who achieved Gold were acknowledged by standing up when their names were called, in front of the whole school parade, and received resounding applause from the audience.
Platinum Certificates were awarded to students for consistently following school rules, showing exceptional behavior inside and outside the classroom, being responsible for their own behavior and learning, demonstrating a great work ethic, showing respect for themselves and others, and for being a good friend and classmate.
Mrs Davina Holmes from Helping Hands Emergency Food Relief presented a special framed certificate to school captains Raymond Marshall and Claire Stretton in appreciation of the school’s donation last year.
“Blackbutt State School students raised more than $300 in a wonderful financial show of support that enabled Helping Hands to provide 40 Christmas hampers and 60 Christmas gifts to the community last year,’’ she said.
The celebratory parade finished with the announcement of the Easter raffle winners.  The school’s P&C held a special Easter raffle, with six fabulous prizes given out to lucky families.
