Mrs Deb Frecklington visits Blackbutt State School

Mrs Deb Frecklington our State Member for Nanango visited our school on Wednesday 26 October at 10.00am.  She was greeted at the front office by our two school captains, Lauren Beutel and Lawson Green who presented her with a floral arrangement, our reading bookmark and a pen set with a welcome speech.  Mrs Frecklington told us that this was “the best welcome she had ever received at any school she visited.”  Mrs Frecklington presented the school with a new flag.  Mrs Frecklington toured our school, met many members of school staff and spoke with many of our students.  She was thrilled to watch a performance of a poem by our year three students.  Thanks Mrs Hanton for organising this performance.  Mrs Frecklington spoke with our year 6 students about her role in Parliament.  Mrs Frecklington has agreed to support our school as we work together to refurbish some of the school’s facilities. Mrs Frecklington is also one of the school’s referees in a grant application through the Gaming Commission to fund permanent shade structures over our new school forts (playgrounds).
