The NED Show

Kirsten was crowned princess of The NED Show, winning a super-duper yo-yo.
Yo-yo, it’s The NED Show!
Story written by Judi Chatwood our Media Liaison Officer
Blackbutt State School students were treated to a fun performance this week when
The Ned Show visited our school.
It was a case of Yo-yo, it’s The Ned Show as the lovable cartoon character mixed good, old-fashioned yo-yo fun to deliver a story and message that was both entertaining and unforgettable.
NED’s name is an acronym for Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best.
The NED Show aims to promote a culture of kindness and excitement in each school by its emphasis on focus and persistence, kindness and shared learning, and diligence and excellence.
Blackbutt students enjoyed the school-wide character education program at a 45-minute assembly that was simple, fun and kid-focused.
The core themes of The NED Show include improving student behaviour, enriching instructional time, increasing academic achievement, complementing existing school themes and enhancing the motivational climate at school.
The NED Show performers used yo-yo tricks to embellish lessons while creating a fun assembly environment that students will remember for years.
There was even the chance for students to buy their own yo-yos to help build on the assembly skills they had learnt.
