Under 8's Day 2016

On 17 November from 9.00am to 10.30am we celebrated being under 8.  Children from Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 played together with children from Blackbutt C&K and Blackbutt Guppys. Miss Hazell,  Blackbutt State School's  prep teacher, organised the activities for this event.  Ms Hazell did a wonderful job of ensuring all activities had plenty of variety.

Our under 8 children had fun as they made pasta necklaces, arrowroot biscuit faces, play dough sculptures, chalk drawings and paper weaving.  Our local Blackbutt Police showed our young ones the inside of a police car.  Our children explored the inside of the J. J. Richards rubbish trucks.

There was an obstacle course and children tested their skills as they climbed, hopped, jumped and tunnelled through it.

One of the most popular activities was the Under 8s photo booth.

The children were joined by their parents and carers.  Our older students helped our Under 8s to play and have fun during the event.  It was a wonderful community event that brought us all together.

Being at school was never this much fun when I was a kid" said one parent.

It was great to see dads as well as mums participate in the activities with their children.
