School community and volunteering
We welcome volunteers and visitors to Blackbutt State School. We feel very strongly that community partnerships are essential for building a strong and supportive learning environment for our students.
Volunteering at school
Volunteers are welcome to help with:
tuckshop
excursions
reading & learning support in our classrooms
sport—coaching, umpiring or helping out at carnivals
parent associations
fetes and other school events
Contact the school for further information or to register your interest.
Blue card
The blue card is a system for monitoring a person's suitability for working with children. Volunteers at schools must hold a blue card before starting, unless they are parents of a child at the school.
Parents & Citizens associations
All schools rely on their community to help with decision making in areas like uniforms and behaviour, and to help with funding and supporting school organisations.
Blackbutt State School has an active P & C Association. Phone the school and become involved.
